The Indian SUV maker Mahindra is gearing up to make the transition to electric mobility in the near future. For this, it is actively working on the development of new electric SUVs, and it’s also looking to electrify its current lineup of cars. So, if you are a Mahindra SUV lover, then you might want to stick around to know about the upcoming electric SUVs coming from the brand. So, without any further ado, here is the list.

Mahindra Scorpio.e

The first SUV on this list is the Mahindra Scorpio-N’s electric version. According to reports, it could be named Scorpio.e. This forthcoming SUV is expected to be based on a modified version of the INGLO platform. Internally codenamed as P1, this platform supports a wheelbase of 2,775 mm to 2,975 mm.

The new Scorpio.e will ditch the traditional ladder-frame chassis for a more modern skateboard platform. At the moment, the specific details about the Scorpio.e’s powertrain have not been shared. However, it is expected to share its battery and electric motors with the Thar.e concept.

This means that it could come equipped with a front-mounted motor making 109 bhp and 135 Nm and a rear motor making 286 bhp and 535 Nm, providing AWD capabilities. Expected range could be around 325 km and 450 km, depending on the battery configuration, which could be in the range of 60 kWh to 80 kWh.

Mahindra Bolero.e

Another one of the most popular SUVs from Mahindra, the Bolero, will also be going electric. Like the Scorpio, it could be named Bolero.e and utilize the same modified INGLO platform. The current-gen Bolero has a 2,680 mm wheelbase, but the new platform will allow for a longer wheelbase. As per the reports, the Bolero.e is expected to share the range anticipated to be in the same bracket of 325 km to 450 km, and it could also be offered with battery pack options between 60 kWh to 80 kWh.

Mahindra XUV.e8

At present, the closest SUV to the finish line of development is the Mahindra XUV.e8. It is the all-electric version of the Mahindra XUV 700. This SUV has been spotted testing on numerous occasions in the country. Recently, it has been confirmed that it will come equipped with three screens on the inside.

It will also be based on the INGLO platform and offer a battery pack of 80 kWh. As for the range, it is expected to be around 450-500 km. Coming to the motors, it could most likely come equipped with a dual-motor setup. This configuration will deliver power outputs ranging from 230 bhp to over 350 bhp. It is expected to arrive before the end of this year.

Mahindra Thar.e

Last year, Mahindra showcased the electric iteration of its popular lifestyle off-roader Thar, dubbed as the Thar.e. Like all the other upcoming SUVs from the brand, it will also be based on the INGLO platform. However, it will be specifically modified to support off-road capabilities.

Its wheelbase could range between 2,775 mm and 2,975 mm, and it will be a five-door model. The concept of this SUV was showcased with a powerful dual-motor setup with a 109 bhp and 135 Nm front motor and a 286 bhp and 535 Nm rear motor with AWD capabilities.

Battery pack options, like the other SUVs, will also range from 60 kWh to 80 kWh. As for the range, the smaller battery pack could offer about a 325 km range. Meanwhile, the 80 kWh pack can offer a 435-450 km range.
